When Waves Become Mountains is an ongoing body of work about navigating unfamiliar environments. Both in harmony with my surroundings and at odds with them, these self-portraits straddle the threshold between detached and rooted. Overwhelmed by the natural world, the tableaus are tinged with an uneasiness that provokes questions of place, identity, and what it means to belong.
